Qeshm International Airport, one of the five special airports of the Islamic Republic of Iran, opened in 1997.

 

 

Qeshm International Airport, one of the five special airports of the Islamic Republic of Iran, opened in 1997.

The other features of this airport are locating on the road A1 as an international airway to connect the west of the Middle East and Far East, suitable for passenger transportation, cargo transit, catering and selling fuel to passing aircrafts, the ability to store more than 3.5 million liters of fuel daily to gas up wide-body aircrafts, equipped with one of the most advanced airport fire-fighting vehicles (Panther 6 × 6), the airport category is 9 and so on.

In order to launch and expansion of domestic and international flights, airport development and providing services to engage more cargo flights at the airport, along with the use of transit fuel is one of the priorities of Qeshm Free Area Organization for investment.

Now Qeshm International Airport with more than 10 domestic and international flights on routes Tehran, Mashhad, Shiraz, Isfahan, Kermanshah and Dubai daily, is one of the major airports of the country.

 

 

Qeshm Airport city development phases

 

Phase 1:

Investment Estimation: 13 million Euros

Forecast for run: one year

Details:

  • Airport city master planning, studies and considering all QFAA transportation policies
  • Expansion of existing terminal of 4300 m2
  • Building of new aerodrome control  tower & technical block
  • Renew airport NAVAIDS and electrical equipment
  • Airport IT infrastructures and new terminal facilities (CUUPS, AODB, BRS, FIDS)

 

Phase 2:

Investment Estimation: 128 million Euros

Forecast for run: Three years

Details:

  • Establishing refueling facilities and hydrants and apron expansion of 5000 m2
  • Building and expansion of residential area for airport staff & stake holders
  • Building of new domestic and international terminals for 20,000,000 pax capacity
  • Drainage and septic system
  • Airport car parking area and retails

 

Phase 3:

Investment Estimation: 191 million Euros

Forecast for run: Two years

Details:

  • Establishing second parallel runways and apron expansion renewing airfield lighting and signings
  • Establish maintenance hanger (MRO)
  • Building airport hotel
  • ASBU consideration for upgrading airport aeronautical services

 

Total capital:  332 million Euros
